Colleen Kelly is ardent about empowering clients by interconnecting one’s thoughts, emotions, and actions into one cohesive unit in order to cope with daily life. As a therapist who takes a holistic approach that combines research with practice, she assimilates many different types of evidenced-based counseling theories to help clients achieve personal growth and positive well-being. Colleen has years of experience working in crisis, children & youth and addictions. She holds a certification in Drug and Alcohol Counseling and certified in Child and Adolescent Trauma therapy. Colleen specializes in Children/Youth, Addictions, LGBTQIA, Personality and Couples.

Colleen earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology with minors in Theatre and Criminal Justice at Elmhurst College, then received her Addictions Counseling Certification (CADC) at the College of DuPage. Colleen is continuing her education as a graduate student at Roosevelt University, specializing in Clinical Psychology (Counseling Practice). Colleen has rich qualitative and quantitative research experience through DePaul University, assisting Dr. Norman through a grant-funded program, Colleen conducted research on the how undergraduate students’ growth and academic outcomes are impacted by service learning and study abroad experiences in college. This research was later presented at The American Psychological Association’s Society for Community Research and Action Annual Conference, in 2016 and again at the 2016 Midwest Ecological Society’s annual conference.
Colleen is currently developing and managing our community psychodrama programs for addictions and children, which will be offered in March 2017.
