SPECIALTIES
Do you have a young person that you’re concerned about? Maybe they’ve grown more disorganized, irritable, or isolated lately? Perhaps their behavior has had some sort of marked difference, their grades have dropped or they aren’t eating or sleeping like they used to? You’re in the right place. Take a deep breath, I am here to help.
Hey there! I am honored that you have landed on my profile. Firstly, I want to thank you for noticing these changes and taking the first step to find some help for this loved oneAll of these, while often times being characteristic teenage behaviors, can also be a sign of a young person in need. We were all adolescents/young people navigating life at some point, and we all remember how difficult it could be. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I am highly trained to work with young people who may be struggling in various aspects and to help them and their loved ones not just see the light at the end of the tunnel, but actually reach it.
I believe that therapy is not one size fits all, and is most effective when it is personalized and tailored to my client’s needs. Therefore, after in-depth evaluation, an appropriate therapeutic modality will be chosen to help our young person establish and meet their goals to get back to feeling more like themselves. We will do this by utilizing any combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, or any of a myriad of other modalities depending on what my client needs. As a social worker, my approach is to “jump in the hole” with you and we will find our way out together. I believe in the power of positive thinking, laughter as the best medicine, and honesty as the crux of healing even when it’s hard. Therapy with me will be fun, and even though we will tackle the tough stuff, I believe you’ll walk away from each session feeling accomplished and like you are making strides toward your goal.
I work with young people between the ages of 12-25, who may be facing depression, anxiety, social anxiety, LGBTQ+ issues, PTSD bipolar disorder, family conflict, abuse/trauma history. I have specialized training in WPATH Standards, Gender Identity/Sexual Orientation issues, and homelessness/poverty. My therapy has always been trauma-informed, gender affirming, and culturally competent. I have an extensive history of working with BIPOC clients, gender-expansive youth, NB/GNC youth, and young people with special needs (I am a former Special Education teacher). If I sound like I may be a good fit for you or a young person in your life, it would be a pleasure to speak with you. Please reach out to me and let’s have a chat!
I received my Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Florida State University (Go ‘Noles!) in 2015, and have been working as a therapist since then. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida since 2018, and am also a Qualified Supervisor. Personal interests : Traveling, college football, women’s softball, languages, and culture, going to the beach or the pool, and advocacy/social justice issues.
