Individual Counseling

You don’t need to be in crisis to deserve support. Whether you’re navigating something specific or just know something feels off — we’re here.

You Deserve a Space
That's Just for You.

Individual counseling gives you dedicated time with a therapist who is focused entirely on you — your story, your goals, and what’s getting in the way of living the life you want. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship stress, trauma, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can help you gain clarity, build resilience, and move forward with confidence.

You don’t have to have it all figured out before you come in. You just have to take the first step.

You Might Benefit From Individual Counseling If You...

  • Feel overwhelmed, anxious, or like you can’t catch your breath
  • Are struggling with depression, low motivation, or loss of interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Have been through something difficult and haven’t fully processed it
  • Are going through a major life change — a breakup, a job loss, a new chapter
  • Struggle with self-esteem, people-pleasing, or setting boundaries
  • Feel like you’re holding everything together for everyone else but falling apart on the inside
  • Just know something is off, even if you can’t put your finger on it

You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to start therapy. Wanting to feel better is reason enough.

Why People Choose Transformative Growth Counseling

Every person who walks through our door — or logs on for a telehealth session — gets a personalized experience. Your therapist will take time to understand your history, your goals, and what matters most to you. From there, they’ll work with you to build a plan that fits your life.

Sessions are a judgment-free space where you can be completely honest. We use evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs — whether that’s attachment-based therapy, trauma-informed care, cognitive approaches, mindfulness, or a combination of methods.

Progress isn’t always linear, and that’s okay. We’ll meet you where you are every step of the way.

FAQ

Individual counseling is one-on-one therapy between you and a licensed therapist. It’s a private, confidential space where you can talk openly about what’s going on in your life, work through challenges, and build the tools to feel and function better.

You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, low, or just like something is off — that’s enough of a reason to reach out. Therapy isn’t only for emergencies. It’s for anyone who wants to understand themselves better and live a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Individual counseling can help with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, life transitions, relationship stress, low self-esteem, boundary setting, burnout, identity exploration, and more. If you’re not sure whether what you’re experiencing is something we can help with, just reach out — chances are we can.

Our therapists use a variety of evidence-based approaches tailored to your specific needs. This may include attachment-based therapy, trauma-informed care, cognitive approaches, mindfulness-based practices, and more. Your therapist will work with you to find the right fit — not apply a one-size-fits-all method.

Yes — everything you share in therapy is confidential. There are a small number of legal exceptions, such as situations involving risk of harm to yourself or others or cases involving child abuse, that require us to act. Your therapist will walk you through confidentiality fully at your first appointment so you know exactly where things stand.

Yes — we accept insurance for individual counseling. Coverage depends on your individual plan. Give us a call at (630) 423-6010 or email us at Contact@transformativegrowth.org and we’ll run a benefits check for you before your first appointment so you know exactly what you’re working with.

As a nonprofit, we offer a sliding scale fee structure to make sure cost is never a barrier to getting support. Reach out and we’ll walk through what options are available for your situation — we’ll do everything we can to make it work.

Yes — we offer telehealth in addition to in-person sessions. Telehealth coverage can vary depending on your insurance plan. When you reach out we’ll run a benefits check and help you figure out the setup that works best for you.

There’s no fixed timeline — it depends entirely on your goals and how you’re progressing. Some people reach their goals in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. Your therapist will check in with you regularly and adjust the plan as needed. You’re always in the driver’s seat.

Finding the right fit matters more than anything else in therapy. If your therapist isn’t the right match, just let us know and we’ll work with you to find someone better suited to your needs. We’d much rather make a change than have you feel stuck or walk away without getting the help you deserve.

Give us a call at (630) 423-6010, email us at Contact@transformativegrowth.org, or click the button on this page. Our team will answer your questions, run a benefits check if needed, and match you with the right therapist — we’re here to make the first step as easy as possible.
