Cassie Whitfield, MA, LCSW

DSCN0200Cassie Whitfield is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who focuses on offering concrete skills to help when you need them most. When emotions or thoughts begin to feel out of control or overwhelming this can be difficult and sometimes scary. Cassie focuses on using applicable steps and tools, pulled from evidence-based models, to assist people in making sense of their difficult emotions and thoughts.

Understanding our internal experience, and being equipped with tools to handle our reactions, is often the key to improving our lives. If you struggle with difficult emotions and thoughts that might feel overwhelming, Cassie will work together with you to learn what your specific experience is, and implement concrete steps to find what works best for you.

Having had experience in multiple types of mental health settings, and a developed knowledge of many therapy interventions, allows Cassie to tailor the approach to your individual needs while always incorporating a compassionate and non-judgmental standpoint. Cassie recognizes that LGBTQIA and people in non-traditional/non-monogamous relationships will need someone who is able to listen without judgement and tailor therapy to be realistic for their lives. In both individual, family, and couples work it is a priority of hers to focus on understanding the whole person, and how all personal identities may intersect.

Cassie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development, with a certificate in Family Studies, and minors in Psychology and Fine Arts, from Washington State University. She then went on to get her Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration, with focus on clinical work and course concentration on Children and Families. She is also a certified
clinical supervisor.
