“Our stories are woven beyond the gates of our perceived insecurities.”

Stories are an integral part of our lives. As children, we heard stories all around us.  Before bedtime, around the dinner table, and as we interacted with our relatives. And,  many adults use reading as a healthy escape from the day’s stressors.  As a counselor, Maryellen wants to learn your story, and believes that everyone has a story, and everyone’s story is important. Sometimes there are chapters missing information, and other chapters that are uncomfortable to read. Other stories bring us joy, memories of loved ones, and hope for the future. The good news is, it’s never too late to rewrite your story.  Maryellen is eager to explore the chapters of your life with you, so that you can find answers, healing and hope. So, what’s your story?

Your story is personal to you and every story has a different roadmap. Maryellen will work collaboratively with you to determine what your next chapter looks like. You may be confused about a something causing you stress today or maybe stuck on something that has happened in your past, causing a struggle to move forward. Every question has a different solution for different people. We will work together to find a goal and a comfortable path to reach that goal. You don’t have to be on your journey alone!

Maryellen uses empathy and understanding to understand her client’s emotions but also uses neurobiology to help understand the motivation behind these emotions. Combining your heart and your brain helps turn abstract thoughts into concrete ideas, and Maryellen can help you find comfort in the concrete and the tangible.
