Alissa Rosen is dedicated to providing exceptional care and effective treatment plans that are tailored to the goals and needs of each client. She has an affinity to understand and build close relationships with individuals from all walks of life through her ability to actively listen, apply an empathic approach, and naturally attune to the human social experience.

Alissa utilizes an integrative therapeutic approach to recognize the specific needs of each client and access the necessary tools to help them overcome significant hurdles. She has the confidence to deliver rewarding outcomes even when the situation may seem uncertain. Her passion to listen, learn and reflect on the client relationships she has established has allowed the opportunity to appreciate the impact she has had on each of her clients – as well as the impact they have had on her.

Alissa views the therapeutic relationship as a vital element in working towards greater change, healing, growth, and happiness in life. She partners with clients to explore their external and interpersonal contexts, recognize the mind and body connection, and bring an awareness and openness to transformational change.

Alissa employs an eclectic approach to therapy by incorporating her training and research in:

  • Mindfulness Therapy
  • Psychodynamic Therapy
  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance-Behavioral Therapy (ACT)
  • Emotion Regulation Therapy (ERT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Alissa graduated with an Honors Distinction from the University of Iowa, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication, with a certificate in Entrepreneurship. Alissa went on to work as a public relations executive at global agencies within the industry, and specialized in Media Relations and Executive Presence and Communication Coaching.

As a former public relations executive, she brings a multifaceted perspective and broad understanding of the power of both written and spoken language. The power that spoken language possesses is one that lies at the center of our ability to inspire, motivate, engage and lead others. Currently, Alissa is obtaining her Master of Arts in Counseling at Northwestern University. Alissa offers a low, affordable sliding scale for client appointments in Naperville and Chicago.
